Fred E. Krocka, professional engineer and surveyor, founded F.E. Krocka & Associates in the early 1960s and was the principal owner until his retirement in 1983. Raymond G. Lenczowski and another partner then purchased the business. Mr. Lenczowski was the sole principal of F.E. Krocka & Associates, Inc. from 1988 to 2012. In 2012, Mr. Lenczowski was joined by Nathan W. Sautter, a long-time employee of the firm, as the second principal owner. In January of 2014, Mr. Sautter took over as sole owner of the company.  After eight years of part-time service after selling the firm, Mr. Lenczowski officially retired on December 31,  2021. A proclamation was issued by Mayor Schag for Ray’s fifty plus years of service under thirteen mayors in the City of Shelby.

Over the past few years, the company has acquired the assets and files of other firms, most notably Kerg Surveying upon Charles Kerg’s retirement in 2015.

Nathan W. Sautter, PS, sUAS Remote Pilot obtained an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Geographics (GIS/GPS) from Hocking College in 1997 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Surveying and Mapping from the University of Akron in 2001. He has been a Registered Professional Surveyor in Ohio (PS#8252) since 2003 and has over 20 years of surveying and construction experience for private, municipal, and ODOT projects.

Mr. Sautter is also a FAA Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) Remote Pilot.

Mr. Sautter is an active member of the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio (PLSO) and has served as Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Secretary for the Mohican-Killbuck Valley Chapter. He is also a member of the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce.
